VDS
Work is ongoing to produce a final version of the Village Design Statement. This document will have a direct influence on Stroud District Council’s future planning decisions as they affect the design, character and appearance of our village and its environs. In this connection, a questionnaire was circulated to all residents in early March asking for their views on key issues affecting design in the village, traffic and environmental issues. There was an excellent response with a total of 121 questionnaires completed, 105 electronically and the remaining 16 on paper.
Analysis of the questionnaire, including extracts from individual views and comments of residents, has now been completed and a copy of the response, which will be incorporated as an appendix to the final version of the document, can be found here.
The Consultation draft has been created following extensive feedback received at the village and school fetes and other meetings over a considerable period of time. It is intended to help manage and influence the changes that will inevitably occur within our Parish.
The words in red are as a result of the questionnaire and comments received that will help to influence planning decisions. It is important therefore that if you feel they misrepresent the wishes and desires of the Parish you should say now and not later when the document has been adopted by Stroud District Council. The final document will provide the opinion of the whole Parish to Stroud District Council so that they can take that into account when making any future planning decisions.
The Statement is in its draft format and has yet to be professionally presented. This is to keep the costs down and with limited time available it means you can comment without further delay.
The closing date for your comments to be received is the 10th May 2011. Please send all comments to VDS@woodchesterparish.org.uk.
