Litter Pick 2009
This year the litter pick was held in October. Volunteers succeeded in thirty bags of rubbish from amongst the wet leaves. If anyone is missing two golf clubs, found in Convent Lane, please contact the Clerk (tel: 01453 833313). On balance it seems a Spring Clean is preferable, so this year we’re requesting everyone to turn out on April 11th to clean the Parish before all the rubbish is hidden by undergrowth. Look out for notices nearer the time.
Remembrance Sunday 2009
On 8th November 2009 Parish Councillors and villagers joined the congregation of St Mary’s Parish Church for a short service of commemoration at the War Memorial, remembering the sacrifice not only of those who died in the two World Wars of the last Century, but also the lost lives of service men and women in more recent conflicts, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Village Carols
Village Carol singing took place on 23rd December, the singers being accompanied by players from the Nativity scene as they toured the village from Convent Lane to congregate beside the floodlit Church and Christmas Tree on Church Green. Despite the inclement weather those who turned out were in good voice and certainly earned hot mulled wine and mince pies! Thank you to all who supported this event in so many different ways.
