Jungle fever hits school fair
July 1, 2008 on 4:49 pm | By Duncan | In Events, Schools | No CommentsThose who go along to Woodchester Endowed Primary School’s summer fair this year on Friday 11th July will be treated to all kinds of fun activities including the chance to come face to face with jungle animals!
Jungle Talk, a wild animal petting zoo, will be offering children the opportunity to hold snakes and see skunks, giant snails and tarantulas in action. For those who are a little screamish the zoo will be confined to the school hall!
The fair opens at 5.30pm and there is no entry charge. Other activities include inflatables, face painting, tattoos, a raffle, tombola, homemade produce and a second hand book stall. There will also be a barbeque and bar.
All proceeds from the summer fair will go towards buying school outdoor facilities.
Tandem pupil aims to raise £1,000

Tommy McInerney, a pupil in year 6 at Woodchester Endowed Primary school in Gloucestershire, will ride from Land’s End to Bristol, hoping to raise £1,000 towards a PA system for his school. “Next year I will be going to secondary school so I want to do something to help my school before I leave.” says Tommy.
“In the Easter holidays this year I am planning to cycle 200 miles from Lands End to Bristol and hoping to raise at least £1000 in aid of my school. One of the things the school still needs is a good PA system, so we are hoping to put all the money raised to this.”
Tommy and his dad Duncan will be riding a tandem for 4 or 5 days starting from Land’s End. “I will sometimes be cycling on my own road bike, sometimes with my Dad on our tandem. We have been training for weeks, planned the route and booked B&B along the way. I am really looking forward to it.”

New School Hall Dedicated

The new hall at Woodchester Endowed School has been blessed and dedicated by Bishop Michael of Gloucester, followed by a balloon release by all the children
